Each giclee print is a shadow of fern found near our coastal woodlands.

I love the process of cyanotypes - it’s very similar to developing a photograph by hand. All my cyanotypes are created with the lovely flora around my home and studio. I take walks near the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico to gather leaves and weeds, ivy and resurrection ferns.

This “treasure hunting” element of the process is just as important as the rest of the cyanotype journey. A stark contrast of white on indigo develops during the last phase of creating these works. The deep blue that appears hints at water - where the first steps began.

Made with Florida sunshine & salt air, these cyanotype botanicals are a lovely reminder of the coast.
